EASTON GHOST ADVANCED REVIEW FOR contact & Slap Hitters
AT A GLANCE
The Easton Ghost Advanced (in -10, -11 drops) is a balanced bat that helps Contact Hitters & Slap Hitters generate their best bat swing speed and bat control to cover the strike zone with authority - blasting line drives or placing the ball where slappers see holes in the infield. Additionally, its two-piece design and high performance barrel combine to create “whip” and “trampoline” effects resulting in near-top exit velocity when the ball is squared up. Because of its balance and potential power, the Ghost Advanced is sometimes referred to as a Balanced Power bat.
Balanced bat (-10, -11 drops) has a smooth swing enabling Contact & Slap Hitters to maximize their bat swing speed AND better adjust their swing mid-pitch to pitch speeds and location
Large sweet spot lets Contact’s Hitters and Slap Hitters produce hard hits and/or ball placement on off-center hits
Overall construction (two-piece, high performing barrel) creates near-top exit velocity when the Ghost Advanced is squared up
Because of its balance and potential power, the Ghost Advanced is sometimes referred to as a Balanced Power bat.
Best fit for attacking Contact Hitters and Slap Hitters that need to achieve their top bat swing speed and who demand a bat they can control in the hitting zone
The Coach’s pick as The #2 Fastpitch Softball Bat for Contact & Slap Hitters
Updated 03/23/2026
The Easton Ghost Advanced provides near-top exit velocity when squared up. Its responsive barrel creates an impressive “trampoline” effect that combines with its two-piece “whip” to create near-top exit velocity. This power shows up for Contact & Slap Hitters as:
Power & Exit Velocity
Contact Hitters and Slap Hitters who are aggressive in the batter’s box who want good bat swing speed, improved bat control and a forgiving sweet spot. This bat will improve her ability to adjust to pitch speed and location, and for Slap Hitters, place the ball where she wants.
Swing Weight & Feel
The balanced Easton Ghost Advanced bat swings smooth helping Contact & Slap Hitters swing the bat quickly through the hitting zone. Also, the hitter improves her ability to make adjustments mid-swing to pitch speeds (fastballs, changeups) and location (risers, drop balls, curveballs). The Ghost Advanced uses a premium grip to help reduce “stinging” and control vibration.
Once a Contact Hitter or Slap Hitter develops her timing with her new Ghost Advanced bat, she will commit earlier, swing more confidently and attack the baerever the pitch is in the strike zone.
Sweet Spot & Forgiveness
The Easton Ghost Advanced has a large sweet spot enabling Contact and Slap Hitters to drive the ball hard even when the ball might be hit slightly off-center. This not only results in more hard hits but for Slap Hitters, it increases her ability to place more balls where she wants.
Break-in & Durability
The Easton Ghost Advanced does require a moderate break-in period of 2+ batting practices (50-100 swings, rotating the barrel 1/4 turn after each hit).
Durability feedback on the Easton Ghost Advanced, like most newer composite fastpitch softball bats are mixed. It is important to note that we are seeing reviews which state:
It holds up well for Contact & Slap Hitters with clean contact
Bat fatigue starts to set in well into at tge end of the first season of play
Note: Some reviewers have complained that Easton has been difficult to deal with regarding warranty claims and returns
The Easton Ghost Advanced bat (in -10, -11 drops) is not ideal for a Power Hitter who relies on a stiff bat for direct energy transfer of their raw strength to the ball. True Power Hitters may find they overpower the Ghost Advanced. And younger hitters might need different bat in a -12 or -13 drop that they can better handle.
FINAL VERDICT
The Easton Ghost Advanced provides a balanced swing and forgiving barrel with good exit velocity making it a great choice if your primary goal is consistent, hard contact, slap placement and control rather than all-out bomb power.
