By increasing her bat swing speed, the Power Hitter brings the Marucci Asura Lux more quickly through the hitting zone, propelling the ball with high exit velocity. And by improving her ability to adjust her swing mid-pitch, she is able to square up more pitches, reducing weak flyballs and foul balls. This power shows up as:

Strong Power Hitters who attack pitches but need to improve their bat swing AND ability to adjust mid-swing - helping to reduce frequency of off-center hits and improve their reaction to off-speed pitches. Very strong Contact Hitters or Slap Hitters who want the extra power this bat can provide - if they can generate enough bat swing speed.

Swing Weight & Feel

Although a one-piece, stiffer bat, the balanced Marucci Asura Lux swings smoother and lighter than most one-piece power bats. Lesser-strength (or younger) Power Hitters should be able to generate good bat swing speed. The Asura Lux may still give the hitter some “stinging”vibration on mis-hits or in cold weather, though batting gloves will probably mitigate the sensation.

Once timing is dialed in, Power Hitters will swing more confidently, commit earlier and attack the ball - especially on inside pitches.

Sweet Spot & Forgiveness

The Marucci Asura Lux Bat has a good, albeit average sweet spot compared to other one-piece bats. However, with its balanced design enhancing the hitter’s ability to adjust her swing-plane and speed, more pitches will find the sweet spot resulting in more solid contact.

• More stress placed on the barrel by Power Hitters who mis-hit often

• Bat fatigue starts to set in by the end of one season of play

The Marucci Asura Lux bat is not the ideal bat for the strongest of power hitters who will overpower it. And almost ALL Young Power Hitters should find a balanced bat with a bigger sweet spot and better vibration control during the years they will be developing good swing mechanics.
